Acoustic Visions Multimedia has our own hosting equipment located right in the Bismarck/Mandan, North Dakota area. Many providers that we compete directly with are still buying third party hosting and passing the cost on to you.

While some may think it is OK to host their site on the office or home server; this is not only a security risk, it can be illegal!  Here's why:

• You are opening up your private office server to the World, which is a major security risk!
• Most houses or offices do not have the proper backup systems or power protection.
• There is far less physical security than there should be for a true hosting environment, let alone proper climate controls.
• Without the proper licensing from Microsoft; it is not legal to use OEM Windows Software for public, unauthenticated (such as web page) access.

Rest assured we are secure, have diesel generator power backup, Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) power backup, temperature and humidity controlled climate, nightly backups, twice daily backups, and on select servers; hourly backups.   We are also compliant with Microsoft's Licensing in regards to providing unauthenticated service. 

Unlike many of the bulk hosting providers which are located on the east coast, west coast, or Florida, we are less vulnerable to terrorist attacks, floods, hurricanes, and earthquakes which could result in expensive down time.  We simply aren't in much danger of those things in the Bismarck/Mandan area.  Further, we have a low crime rate.

The bulk hosting providers also "oversell" web space. They promise 100gb or more of space, but in reality they know no one is going to use that so you are buying something you don't really need.  They sometimes are in the practice of charging you extra for features that we feel should be basic with any hosting plan. Also, be sure you know what kind of ads they run and make sure association with them will not hurt your professional reputation.

You need not worry about our lower costs meaning lower quality!   We can build and design your site the way you want it and we will almost always be able to do it for less.   Because we work with a network of independent designers and developers (all local to the area), we can save you money on your site.   We do not have office staff or overhead that the bigger companies have, yet we can provide the same or better service for a fraction of the cost.   We have quoted projects to potential clients for a fraction (sometimes as much as only 10%) of the prices quoted by our competition.   Many times one of their $10,000-$20,000 projects can be completed for $3000 or much less.

We let you pick a price range and options and work inside of your budget.  Generally, when we quote a project price we will give you a base price, but also give you some ala carte options.  This puts you in control of the price of your site.   Many times we suggest start small, see how things go, and then build from there.
